There is
something to be said for consistency! That is what the Credo
Community Center has enjoyed with Jim Scordo as the Executive
Director since 1990. Jim joined the Credo Community Center
family in March, 1981. After a brief absence to explore other
opportunities, Jim returned in August of 1983 as the Director
of Credos residential program for adolescents, and he has
been with the organization ever since.
While working
full time at Credos adolescent program, Mr. Scordo and
Credos current Director of Residential Services, Roger
Ambrose returned to school to pursue their Masters in Social
Work. They both graduated from Adelphi University in August,
1988 with their MSW, later to be converted to LMSW. In
addition they both received their CASACs in 1987.
Over the
years Credo has gone through many changes and growth in
response to client and community needs. The merge of the Credo
Foundation and Community Center of Alcoholism in 2000 was a
major accomplishment for the organization. Mr. Scordo and
Patricia Hinckley, former Director of the Community Center for
Alcoholism led the way. Since the merge, Mr. Scordo has been
able to assemble a fine team of ten management staff with a
combined total of 110 years employment with the Credo
Community Center. The management staff has been the backbone
of the organization as the agency continues to make
improvements while providing quality professional services to
our clients.
Mr. Scordo is very active in the
community and is involved with several committees, and board
of Directors. His experiences include the following:
