Watertown Outpatient Chemical Dependency Clinic

The Outpatient Clinic at West Main Street was established in 1978 to meet the alcohol abuse counseling needs of Jefferson County. Early in the year 2000 the clinic was combined with the Medically Supervised Substance Abuse Clinic, formerly at the Woolworth Building, that provided counseling for specifically drug involved persons. The joint program now operating under one roof at West Main Street in Watertown, falls under the title of a “Chemical Dependency Clinic” offering comprehensive services that treat both alcohol or drug addictions.

A variety of groups are available, depending on the needs of the individual. Groups are sequential, building on the skills acquired in previous groups and are linked to the Stage of Change Theory. Sequential groups allow the clients to be placed in the group that best meets their individual treatment needs and utilizes their previous treatment experiences. The Primary Group is psycho educational in nature and is designed to increase the client's insight into the nature of his/her chemical dependency. The AIP Group (alternative to inpatient) offers clients the intensity of a four times a week program. Other groups offered here at the Clinic are as follows:

Specialty groups include:

 • Women's issues groups
 • Adolescent Treatment Group
 • Relapse Prevention Group
 • Drug Court Group
 • Transition Group
• MICA Group
